Frequently asked questions

Yes. EU and non-EU citizens can buy apartments and houses in their own name, with no special permit. Some banks set stricter mortgage conditions for non-residents, which is where our mortgage team helps.
Tell us about the property through the form. We arrange the valuation with a FairHome broker, who assesses it and recommends a realistic asking price. It costs nothing and there is no obligation to sell through us.
No. We help buyers, tenants and sellers anywhere in the Czech Republic. Our partner is based in Prague, but a search or a valuation can be anywhere in the country.
Yes. We shortlist homes, come to viewings with you and go through the lease in English before you sign, including the deposit, notice period and service charges.
Yes, mortgages are our core service. We compare offers from Czech banks, including for foreigners, and time the approval around the purchase so your reservation does not lapse.
Usually a reservation agreement with a deposit, then the purchase contract, with the money held in escrow until the land registry (katastr nemovitostí) records the new owner. Registration typically takes a few weeks. We explain each document in English.
Property transfer tax was abolished in 2020, so the main extras are the land registry fee, escrow and legal fees, the bank's valuation and, if you borrow, mortgage-related fees. We go through the full figure with you before you commit.
FairHome is a Prague real estate agency and our partner for listings and valuations. Their brokers handle the properties; Czechia Brokers is your English-speaking contact and takes care of the financing.
